∽ Thank You! ∼
Pong

Thank you for visiting my site. I am Eric Fortier, a programmer from Québec, Canada. It sincerely means a lot that you took some time to learn more about me!

I've been programming a language or another for most of my life. I started at the age of 11 when my parents bought me a computer and I never stopped since then.

Programming brings me joy and peace and I hope to be able to share my passion with you.

You may have seen some of the things I created or helped create on this site. They represent only a slice of the things I have made over the last few decades. A few things that are easier to show than others.

∽ Portfolio ∼

Of everything on this site, the thing I am most thrilled about is the work that went into the Dialer 2000 project for over 10 years.

Listening to the feedback from our customers and being able to deliver updates and features that made their day to day lives more enjoyable was and still is an amazing feeling and a great motivator.

The Dialer 2000 application received numerous awards and top scores from many of the review outlets and magazines.

I'm also proud of some of the things that I could not put on display on this site. Because let's face it, a front page full of programming jibber-jabber is not very appealing! But it is available if needed.

∽ Past Work ∼

From 1993 to 1995 I worked as a programmer at Numerix where I was responsible for building, maintaining and improving their main application, used to drive high speed document scanners. I also worked with the data entry specialist to maximize data input efficiency by improving the UI and the data entry process.

From 1995 to 2013, I co-founded Tech Logic, Inc. for the creation and online sale of software. I was in charge of programming in Delphi (pascal), C++, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and a host of other languages.

From 2004 to 2005, in addition to working at Tech Logic, I did contract work and was in charge of maintaining several Delphi applications, as well as work in PHP and MySql at Solution d'Affaires Elite.

Since 2016, I have been working as an independent contractor for Sherlock Home Inspections where I help create tools of all types (desktop, web, cloud) to improve their reporting workflow.

∽ Game Design and Programming ∼

You may have noticed a focus on game-related topics on my site. I am extremely passionate about game development, and while other fields of computer science also have their appeal, game development tends to make the scale tip on one side!

I love to read about it, watch talks and if I have the opportunity to probe the mind of an established developer, it's a great experience.

∽ Open to New Opportunities ∼

Have you seen something on my site that you would like to talk about? Need to know more about something? Please don't hesitate to contact me.
